I bought this with some concern that there was another book soon to marry the need for agile project management / agile methods of software development, however, I am pleased that the book contains much more. The first two chapters explain the history of the evolution of agile methods, but do so in a way that focuses on business benefits for the actors to allow engineering teams to adopt these methods as the number of different ways that Agile methods reduce the risk . The next section of the book illustrates how agile project management is different from traditional projects, and provides concrete examples of the differences and how to modify their behavior in project management to match the new environment. The third section of the book was incredible – that a number of technical arrangements for managing agile that it can be approved today in my project, without necessarily the need to adopt a new methodology. The last section of the book discusses some of the issues "critical" that we must look out for when using these agile methods. A special gold nugget was the last chapter which gives instructions on how to adopt these techniques and practices of an organization or an existing project, without attracting the attention of the police "process" in an organization. I like the idea of changing my way to work in flight under the radar. I recommend this book to project managers, business managers and senior technical leadership of teams that use (or would like to use) the agile software development methods.

I am an experienced IT Project Manager, especially using the traditional waterfall approach to projects. My new uses Scrum agile organization, so I took a couple of books to get to speed. I expected a bit 'more of this particular book. For "random" I mean this is not a "book", but rather a collection of magazine articles, essays, conference papers and what almost looks like the Master. "There are 17 different authors, and chapters that cover the whole range of styles of writing and reading. Some of them are so full of notes, it would take days just to go to 10 pages. Others are exceptionally well written and easy asimilar.Los graphics are abysmal. They are, literally, screenshot and not in the resolution of publication – to the point that some are literally unreadable. The version I bought (on Amazon) was printed in 2005, but reprints of articles are up to 6 years! Although there are some gems in this book is certainly not the work of the list price of $ 40. It would be better to spend their money elsewhere.

I wish I had this book when I was a project manager full time. It 'something that I will in my library as a reference manual for the next few years. You can read straight through or pick a section that allows you to get unstuck in the project was having problems actual.Yo stakeholders influence so dug in on agile section meetings. What I like about the agile approach is that it comes to managing change. I often have problems after the date of completion of the project, because the application has taken more than half-reluctantly. Technical Aguanno help change that.

I liked this book. Takes the best of "agile" for the entire sector and consolidates into chapters by different authors. It is well written and teaches the fundamentals of Agile and how to manage projects in this environment. A good book for a project manager, who is new to agile programming.

I bought this book, hoping to shed light on things like pair programming, Scrum and other agile techniques. Did not. What he did was make a bunch of short, well-written essays on how to run a project ágil.Hay many different voices in this book, with many papers, which are forced to find a group that likes a lot, and some do not. However, the format makes it tight and digestible. There is no contradiction in this libro.Si're thinking of going fast, or a group of developers to continue using "agile phrases" this is a great book! A highlight is a paper negative, explaining why Agile sucks. He was very brave and very smart to include this article, and really helped put everything in class I perspectiva.PS "Extreme Programming Explained" after that, and really felt flat compared to this one. Yes, there were more technical explanation of XP, but were not as well explained as a support or like this book.
